Walk the half-mile nature trail at the Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary in McKinney to visit 10 life-size animatronic dinosaurs. The 15th annual display includes a 46-foot-tall Tyrannosaurus rex and nine other moving, roaring prehistoric creatures. An outdoor fossil dig, a play area and photo op are also featured. The trail is jogging-stroller-friendly but is not paved. The 289-acre wildlife sanctuary is also home to hundreds of birds, reptiles and other wild critters.
Coronavirus safety precautions include the ability to purchase tickets online in advance to minimize contact. Masks are required for visitors and employees.
