Get some fresh air and enjoy the sites of West Dallas. While there are some tried and true activities to enjoy in Trinity Groves, take advantage of your Valentine’s Day outing to explore some hidden gems in the neighborhoods.
Begin your adventure with a trip to Fabrication Yard. The free and legal graffiti park is open to all artists and anyone who wants to admire it. As a bonus, you’ll probably meet some creatives there doing their thing while you visit!
Go axe throwing at Lone Star Axe. Sign up for a time slot (one-hour and two-hour windows are available) for the best experience.
Grab a slice of southern tradition at the Cake Bar. And don’t worry if you’re in a hurry. The bakery has a cake ATM outside!
An East Dallas Sunset
Nowhere in Dallas does the outdoors like East Dallas, so if you’re looking to spend Valentine’s Day outside, this is one of the best places to be.
Catch the sunset at White Rock Lake. If you have your pups in tow, the bridge near the dog park is ideal (just be mindful of cyclists), or you can set up a blanket or chairs at historic Winfrey Point.
If you’re into last-minute gifts, invite your V-Day companion to peruse through new and used records at Good Records and let them pick something they like.
Then grab a bite at Smoky Rose. Sharing a plate of barbeque on the garden lawn is a great way to end the evening.

Did you know Dallas is the official home of the frozen margarita? Get a taste of some of Dallas’ best Tex Mex and margaritas with a relaxing margarita crawl through Uptown.
Start with queso at Las Palmas and indulge in their signature Spicy Margarita featuring Tanteo Habanero Tequila.
Then hop on the MATA trolley and head south toward Downtown. Get off at St. Paul & Woodall Rodgers and check out what’s happening at Mi Cocina in Klyde Warren Park.
