We’re wrapping up August with a BIG weekend across DFW! From the Dallas Cowboys and Ringling Bros. to major concerts, comedy, foodie adventures, and home inspiration, there’s plenty happening around North Texas.

Whether you’re looking for date-night plans, something fun with the family, or an excuse to get out and explore, here’s your Dallas Native guide to August 28–31.

Friday Night in DFW

Dallas Cowboys vs. New Orleans Saints – AT&T Stadium (Friday, August 28)

Football is back in Arlington! The Dallas Cowboys take on the New Orleans Saints in preseason action at AT&T Stadium Friday night at 7 p.m.

Make a night of it by heading to Arlington early for dinner or drinks around the Entertainment District before kickoff.

Lynyrd Skynyrd & Foreigner – Dos Equis Pavilion (Friday, August 28)

Two legendary rock bands share the stage Friday night as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner bring their Double Trouble Double Vision Tour to Dos Equis Pavilion.

If classic rock is your thing, this is one of the biggest concert nights of the weekend.

Charley Crockett – Billy Bob’s Texas (Friday & Saturday, August 28–29)

Head west to the Fort Worth Stockyards for a Texas-sized night out with Charley Crockett at Billy Bob’s Texas. He’s playing both Friday and Saturday night, giving you two chances to catch the show.

Grab dinner in the Stockyards, walk around Exchange Avenue, and then head inside the World’s Largest Honky Tonk for the concert.

Netflix Is a Joke – Netflix House at Galleria Dallas (Friday, August 28)

Looking for something different? Dallas comedians take over Netflix Bites for a night of stand-up comedy at Netflix House inside Galleria Dallas.

Pair the show with dinner, drinks, or a little shopping for an easy Friday night that keeps everything in one place.

Family Fun All Weekend

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey – American Airlines Center (August 28–30)

The Greatest Show On Earth rolls into Dallas for the weekend with performances Friday through Sunday at American Airlines Center.

The reimagined production features 65 performers from 17 countries, high-flying trapeze acts, acrobatics, the Double Wheel of Destiny, extreme unicycling, music, comedy, and an interactive pre-show.

This is one of the weekend’s biggest family-friendly events and a great indoor escape from the August heat.

Saturday Adventures

Collect X Convention – Gilley’s Dallas (Saturday, August 29)

Collectors can spend Saturday hunting for cards, memorabilia, collectibles, and unique finds at the Collect X Convention at Gilley’s Dallas.

It’s an easy option for families, collectors, sports fans, and anyone who loves searching for something unexpected.

Dallas’ Best Tacos & Margaritas Tour (Saturday, August 29)

Explore Dallas one taco at a time with a guided food tour featuring some of the city’s favorite tacos and margaritas.

This is an especially fun option for a birthday outing, girls’ day, date, or group of friends looking for something different to do on a Saturday.

Fort Worth Fall Home & Garden Show – Will Rogers Memorial Center (August 28–30)

Homeowners, gardeners, DIYers, and anyone gathering inspiration for their next project can head to Fort Worth for the Fall Home & Garden Show.

The free event runs Friday through Sunday and brings together home improvement professionals, garden experts, products, demonstrations, kids’ activities, crafts, and hands-on experiences.

Sunday Around Town

Jack Johnson – Dos Equis Pavilion (Sunday, August 30)

Slow things down Sunday evening with Jack Johnson’s SURFILMUSIC Tour at Dos Equis Pavilion.

It’s a laid-back way to close out the weekend with an outdoor concert and some of the songs that practically define summer.

Buddy Guy: 90 – Majestic Theatre (Sunday, August 30)

Blues legend Buddy Guy takes the stage at the historic Majestic Theatre Sunday night.

Pair the show with dinner downtown and you’ve got a classic Dallas night out in one of the city’s most beautiful entertainment venues.

Dallas Farmers Market

Keep Sunday morning casual with brunch, local shopping, fresh produce, artisan goods, and small businesses at the Dallas Farmers Market.

Get there early, grab coffee, wander The Shed, and stay for lunch before heading to your Sunday evening plans.

White Rock Lake

If you’d rather spend the morning outside, head to White Rock Lake for a walk, bike ride, paddle, or relaxing morning by the water before temperatures climb.

Monday Night

Bryson Tiller – Dos Equis Pavilion (Monday, August 31)

Why should the weekend end Sunday?

Bryson Tiller brings The Neo Trapsoul Tour to Dos Equis Pavilion Monday night at 7:30 p.m., giving R&B fans one more major show before we officially say goodbye to August.

Make It a Dallas Museum Day

If you have Monday off or want something to do during the day, beat the heat with a visit to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, Dallas Museum of Art, or another Dallas cultural favorite before heading out for dinner.

How to Use This Weekend Guide

Friday has some serious competition: cheer on the Cowboys in Arlington, catch Lynyrd Skynyrd and Foreigner at Dos Equis Pavilion, head to Billy Bob’s for Charley Crockett, or laugh your way through Netflix Is a Joke.

Saturday is perfect for Ringling Bros., the Collect X Convention, a Dallas taco tour, or a trip west for the Fort Worth Fall Home & Garden Show.

On Sunday, slow things down at the Dallas Farmers Market or White Rock Lake before catching Jack Johnson or Buddy Guy. Then extend the weekend into Monday with a museum day followed by Bryson Tiller.

There’s plenty happening across DFW August 28–31—get out and explore!
