Labor Day Weekend has arrived, and DFW is sending summer out with a packed lineup! From three days of live music at the Riverfront Jazz Festival and Harry Potter with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra to soccer, comedy, food tours, museums, and plenty of ways to enjoy the long weekend, there’s no shortage of things to do around North Texas.

Friday Night in Dallas
9th Annual Riverfront Jazz Festival – Fair Park (September 4–6)
One of Dallas’ biggest Labor Day traditions returns to Fair Park for three days of jazz, R&B, soul, blues, and neo-soul.
The Black Academy of Arts and Letters celebrates its 50th season with an impressive weekend lineup that includes Gladys Knight on opening night, plus Samara Joy, Spyro Gyra, Brian McKnight, Keiko Matsui, Bilal, Rose Royce, Kim Waters, and more throughout the weekend.
Add food trucks, vendors, young artists, and after-parties, and you could easily build your entire Labor Day weekend around this festival.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ in Concert – Meyerson Symphony Center (Friday, September 4)
Calling all Harry Potter fans! Watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince™ on the big screen while the Dallas Symphony Orchestra performs the film’s score live.
It’s part movie night, part symphony experience, and a fun way to kick off the holiday weekend downtown.
Late Night at the DMA – Dallas Museum of Art (Friday, September 4)
The Dallas Museum of Art is keeping the lights on late Friday with live music, cocktails, bites, interactive art experiences, and after-hours access to the museum.

Saturday Adventures
Riverfront Jazz Festival – Day Two (Saturday, September 5)
The music continues Saturday at Fair Park with performances across multiple stages throughout the day.
With food, vendors, live music, and plenty happening around Fair Park, this is one of the weekend’s best options if you’re looking for an all-day event.
FC Dallas vs. Sporting Kansas City (Saturday, September 5)
Soccer fans can head to Frisco Saturday as FC Dallas takes on Sporting Kansas City.
Make a day of it with lunch or dinner nearby before cheering on FC Dallas.
Dallas Trinity FC vs. Brooklyn FC (Saturday, September 5)
There’s even more soccer happening around DFW Saturday as Dallas Trinity FC takes on Brooklyn FC.
If your family caught soccer fever this summer, this is another chance to keep the excitement going into September.
Brandi Carlile – Dickies Arena (Saturday, September 5)
Brandi Carlile brings The Human Tour to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth Saturday night.

R&B ONLY LIVE – Toyota Music Factory (Saturday, September 5)

If you’d rather stay inside, spend Labor Day exploring one of Dallas’ museums.
