A bird’s eye view of the Lakewood Elementary expansion

If you have been driving through the heart of Lakewood lately, you may have seen fences, dust and workers diligently making headway on the Lakewood Elementary addition.
This aerial photo gives a full view of the expansion, which was designed by T. Howard & Associates. The addition will nearly double the number of students the school can handle. By January of 2018, students should have 47 new classrooms, two new art rooms and two new computer rooms, a music room, a nature courtyard and additional bathrooms.
While we’re talking Lakewood Elementary, remember that video of Field Day at the school in 1954?
