Get ready to unleash your children (and your inner child) Friday, March 23 when the new Plano location of the Crayola Experience opens its doors at The Shops at Willow Bend. An official ribbon cutting with Plano Mayor Harry LaRosiliere and Crayola CEO Smith Holland will start at 9:45 a.m. and the doors officially open to the public at 10 a.m.

The fourth Crayola Experience in the U.S., the 60,000-square-feet family attraction features exciting activities such as Wrap it Up (wrapping a crayon with any name you choose), Be A Star! (creating a coloring sheet from a photo of yourself) and Drip Art. Kids can find over 20 different stations to entertain their creative sides, plus enjoy a live action show in the Crayola Theater where crayon pals Scarlet and Turk explain how Crayola makes all those millions of crayons.

With the name as trusted as Crayola, you know it will be a colorful day of adventure, as well as nostalgia for the adults, with vintage Crayola ads decorating the walls.

When those little fingers get tired of making art, an indoor playscape and toddler area lets them just play. A café and family facilities are there to help you take care of your little ones. Private rooms are also available to reserve for parties, and Crayola Experience will even offer special events like Scout sleepovers or evening sip-and-play activities for adults only.

The attraction is open 365 days a year, and day passes are $20.99, but kids under 3 get in for free. For an additional $10 a person, you can purchase an annual pass and go time and time again. The annual pass also gets artists-to-be 20% off items in the huge retail shop (that has every known Crayola product you can dream up) and in the Crayola Café.

Is there anything better than the smell of a freshly opened box of crayons? The Crayola Experience in Plano just might be.
