Fair Park’s 2018 Free Summer Movie Series kicks off June 13 with “Despicable Me 3,” the fourth-highest-grossing animated film of all time.
Movies will be shown on Wednesdays at dusk at the Museum Green lawn area (near the Natural History Building). The start time will be approximately 8:00 p.m. (movies will not start until complete darkness).
In “Despicable Me 3,” the mischievous Minions hope that Gru will return to a life of crime after the new boss of the Anti-Villain League fires him. Instead, Gru decides to remain retired and travel to Freedonia to meet his long-lost twin brother for the first time. The reunited siblings soon find themselves in an uneasy alliance to take down the elusive Balthazar Bratt, a former 1980s child star who seeks revenge against the world.

Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets for an evening of great, free family fun! (Pets on leashes are welcome. Please clean up after your pet.)

In the instance of inclement weather, movies will be shown inside the Women’s Building on the first floor. Enter Fair Park through Gate 3 (Washington Street at Parry Avenue) behind the Women’s Building for free parking.
