Programs to help the needy with School Supplies:
Fill the Bus
Date/Hours:July 30th – August 7th 2018
Help us “Fill the Bus” for AISD students in need. Donations needed for students of low income families who cannot afford the supplies needed to start school. Sponsored by: Allen Community Outreach Center.
Supplies will also be collected at the ACO location or click the link for more locations.
Frisco Family Services Back To School Donations
This critical program provides students (grades K-12) with a great start to the new school year with a new backpack, the required school supplies, new clothes and new shoes.Through the generosity of the community, FFS is able to provide backpacks, school supplies, new clothing, shoes, and hygiene items to students whose parents are struggling financially.
Through a partnership with the Essilor Vision Foundation, students receive free eye exams and glasses. Free haircuts, manicures, and facials are available for all of our students to enjoy. Our goal is for every student to have the confidence and essential items needed for a successful start to the school year!
Give Back, Buy a Backpack
Location:Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center
Purchasing school supplies and uniforms can be difficult for families of abused children, who are often struggling to make ends meet. This year, Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center will supply 1,500 kids with 2 uniforms and backpacks stuffed with all the supplies they’ll need.Our community partners, like you, make this possible.
Mayor’s Back to School Fair 2018

You can help provide school supplies and back-to-school services for economically disadvantaged kids at the fair. Or just attend. To receive free school supplies while attending the Fair, however, financially eligible students must meet certain criteria. See our website for details.

School Uniform Drive
Students in Dallas ISD are required to wear school uniforms, but when families come to our shelter they often don’t have the clothes they need for school. By making a donation to our school uniform drive we can provide every school-age child at our three shelters the uniforms they need so they can focus on being successful students!
Tax Free Weekend 2018

Shop your local stores and malls for tax free s shopping! Most clothing, footwear and backpacks priced under $100 students are tax free this week-end. Lay-away plans can be used again this year to take advantage of the sales tax holiday.
