More than 25 barbecue teams will take over Kidd Springs Park for a two-day festival featuring live music, concessions and, of course, the main event – a barbecue contest. Hosted by local nonprofit Go Oak Cliff.
To kick off the festival on Friday, participating teams will light their fires at 5 p.m. and guests are invited to watch the teams at work and listen to live music until 10 p.m.
Tasting and voting are on Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m. Entrance to the event is free, but guests must purchase a wristband to sample barbecue and cast their vote in the competition.
The event is kid- and dog-friendly. Beer will be available to purchase but no outside alcohol is permitted.
Doors open at 5pm
