1. Get your fall family photo taken at Autumn at the Dallas Arboretum before Nov. 21 while wandering gardens filled with thousands of fall flowers and plants. And don’t forget to stop by the Adventures in Neverland themed Pumpkin Village to see a magical display of pumpkins and gourds.
2. Visit the Crow Museum of Asian Art to see Jacob Hashimoto’s special exhibit Clouds and Chaos, open through April 2019. The exhibit includes a breathtaking sculpture of hanging paper discs that simulate the feeling of being up and amongst the clouds. Museum admission is free.
3. Discover the influential stories behind two special museum exhibits, Slavery at Jefferson’s Monticello: Paradox of Liberty (Sept. 22-Dec. 31) at the African American Museum and Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank (Sept. 13-Aug. 2019) at the Dallas Holocaust Museum.
4. Venture into a nebula of rainbows at Sweet Tooth Hotel’s next installment “1955” (Nov. 1-Dec. 31). The pop-up art gallery in Victory Park is the perfect spot for out-of-this-world selfies with friends.
5. Root for your favorite sports teams all month long at AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys, courtside for the Dallas Mavericks, or at the hockey rink for the Dallas Stars.
6. See popular comedian Amy Schumer take to the stage on Nov. 15 at the Winspear Opera House during her latest comedy tour with all new standup material.
7. Take the kids to the Dallas Children’s Theater to see Magic Tree House’s Holiday Musical: A Ghost Tale for Mr. Dickens (Nov. 16-18), a musical adventure about siblings Jack and Annie whisked back in time to Victoria England and meet Charles Dickens.
8. Enjoy a night of live music and a screening of the film Hidden Figures on Nov. 16 outside in the Nasher Sculpture Center garden during ’til Midnight at the Nasher.
9. Drop the kids off at the Perot Museum on Nov. 16 for a Wizarding Science Sleepover, where they’ll explore the science behind magic and meet owls and other birds up close in a live flight show. Ticket prices vary for members and non-members.
10. Start getting your beard growing for the 1^st Annual Beard Competition on Nov. 17 at the Dallas Farmers Market, just in time for No-Shave November. Enter to win or vote online before the big day and enjoy live music, beer, and meet with barbers during the friendly competition.
11. Bring your pup out to the Deep Ellum Bark Park on Nov. 17 to socialize and enjoy a special storytime just for dogs at the Waggin’ Tales presented by the Dallas Public Library. This event is free.
12. Listen to live performances by Betty Wright, Clarence Carter and many more at the Legends of Bluesconcert on Nov. 17 at the Music Hall at Fair Park.
13. Go on a shopping trip with the family to see the Trains at NorthPark (Nov. 17-Jan. 6). The exhibit marks its 20^th year at NorthPark Center, which features replicas of famous cityscapes. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
14. Experience the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker (Nov. 17-18), a beloved tradition performed by world class Russian artists among hand-painted sets. The show will take place at the SMU McFarlin Auditorium.
15. Enjoy a holiday classic, A Christmas Carol (Nov-21-Dec. 30), performed by the Dallas Theater Center at the Wyly Theater.
16. Join fellow runners for a 5K or 8-mile run on Thanksgiving morning (Nov. 22) for the Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot at Dallas City Hall.
17. Get in the spirit of the holidays and attend a Dallas Symphony Orchestra concert, with shows like Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty (Nov. 23-25) and A John Williams Christmas (Nov. 30-Dec. 2).
