The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is the 13th Presidential Library administered by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). The Presidential Library system formally began in 1939, when President Franklin Roosevelt donated his personal and Presidential papers to the Federal Government.

As the Nation’s official record keeper, the National Archives serves as administrator for records of the U.S. Federal Government. NARA’s Presidential Libraries and Museumsare repositories for textual, electronic, and audiovisual Presidential records as well as domestic and foreign Presidential gifts.

Sunday, noon – 5 p.m.

Weekday afternoons are the least crowded. The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
