Outside the Metroplex, delightfully straight-shootin’ folks in towns like Commerce and Texas’ very own Paris provide a great variety to see and do. Waco may be the heart of this region, and Bryan-College Station is extremely dynamic, partially due to Texas A&M University’s presence. And then wonderfully unique communities like Bastrop, Lockhart and Seguin are built around classic, picture-perfect Texas town squares and provide a real glimpse of small-town Texas life.

Texas OriginalsHave you been to the Dr Pepper Museum? How about a tour of famous Blue Bell Creameries? Well then, you’ll have to hit these tasty and fun samples of what makes Texas just so Texas-y. And don’t forget the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, the Waco Mammoth Site, Texas Sports Hall of Fame, Dinosaur Valley State Park and Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, where you could have a giraffe nibble from your hand.
