A once-unused corner in the great room, this area was given new life as a beautiful storage space to display the owner’s extensive book collection and attractive stringed instrument.

Book-Filled Blue Dining Nook
The clients needed a small dining table for special occasions. They had the brilliant idea to create a pedestal coffee table for everyday use that could be transformed into a dining table with semi-circlular leaves.

Before: Unused & Unattractive Corner
The corner of the great room was spacious but underutilized.

Blue Music Library
The odd, narrow wall niche ended up being the perfect spot to stash vinyl records.

Home Library Hits the Right Note
In need of a home for their beautiful stringed instrument and extensive collection of books and records, the homeowners turned to designer Harmony Weihs to transform an unused corner into functional storage space.

Corner Library With Rolling Ladder
A handy instrument rack allows the homeowners’ stringed instrument to be showcased when it’s not in use, while a rolling ladder grants access the top of the bookshelf.

Adjustable Coffee Table in Reading Nook
By adding two half-circle leaves and raising the steel swivel base to the right height, the coffee table becomes a dining table for four.
