Erykah Badu headlines opening night of the Labor Day weekend music festival. A talented lineup of jazz, R&B, soul, blues and neo-soul artists will perform on two main stages. A Promising Young Artists stage showcases student groups and performers. Along with the music, guests can shop festival vendors and enjoy diverse foods.
Other artists performing at the festival include the Dallas Hot Band featuring Shaun Martin and 15 Dallas artists, Oleta Adams, a Nancy Wilson tribute featuring Mike Phillips and Nestor Torres, Jonathan Butler, the Dallas Jazz Collective and Jennifer Holliday with members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The festival is presented by The Black Academy of Arts and Letters (TBAAL) and takes place indoors at the Dallas Convention Center Arena (home of TBAAL).
General admission ticket for Saturday and Sunday is $55 per night (advance) / $65 (at the door). Opening night tickets, multi-day packages are also available.
