The State Fair favorite will offer corny dogs, funnel cakes and lemonade from food trucks.

By now you’ve probably heard that the 2020 State Fair of Texas is officially canceled. That means we’ll be missing out on one of the most important parts of going to the fair: eating all of the classic fair foods.

But fear not! The family behind Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs is bringing their famous corny dogs to you at pop-up events around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The next event will be held July 10 in Carrollton.

“While we are heartbroken that the State Fair of Texas will not take place this year, we take the health of our employees and customers seriously and understand the decision that was made to protect the public at large from COVID-19,” says a statement on the Fletcher’s website.

At the pop-up events, a mobile trailer will serve corn dogs, funnel cakes, curly fries and lemonade. Advance orders and cash will not be accepted. Fletcher’s encourages patrons to practice safe social distancing at their pop-ups and to send only one person per household to wait in line. Masks are now mandatory while in public in most Texas counties, including Dallas County.

Over the past few months, Fletcher’s had already begun hosting pop-ups and started catering private events as a way to “lift the spirits of everyone affected by the pandemic.”
