Real estate agents sold 1,733 homes during January — an increase of 13.9% from a year earlier, according to data from the MetroTex Association of Realtors.
For all of North Texas, sales of single-family homes by real estate agents rose 10% from January 2020 levels.
Rockwall County saw the largest percentage home sales gain with a 35.7% year-over-year increase last month.

Inventories of houses for sale remain at near-record-low levels. The number of homes listed for sale in Collin, Denton, Ellis and Rockwall counties was down more than 60% from January 2020, according to the MetroTexas Realtors.
Real estate agents in North Texas sold a record almost 120,000 single-family homes last year. And with demand for housing out-stripping supply, property purchases are expected to stay strong in the months ahead.
Home prices in the area are at an all-time high and are expected to move up in 2021.
