Ride a wrecking ball flung at a set of giant bowling pins and try to knock enough over to get a strike. Or step inside a giant foosball game, trying to block and kick balls by sliding left and right along rods. These are just two of the family-friendly activities inside Nerf Challenge, which takes place on 90,000 square feet of playground set up inside Centennial Hall at Fair Park. The fun also includes sports with twists: Take shots in a basketball free-throw game that includes two hoops, swing at a baseball that’s floating in the air, or kick a football through goalposts that measure the height. There are also activities that use Nerf toys that families may be more familiar with. Use Nerf dart guns and blasters to shoot targets or pelt other players to score points and reach a goal within several battle arenas and other courses. There’s also an all-ages obstacle course for competing against friends and family. Get access to these activities by purchasing a play pass, which costs $29.50 online and includes protective eye gear that is yours to take home. The entry fee for spectators is $5 online for ages 3 and older.
