Below is our list of Bike Trails for Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano and Dallas. If you like to ride your bike, here are some places for bike riding in DFW.

Allen Bike Trails

Allen currently has over 40 miles of paved hike and bike trails. As each new trail segment is built, Allen gets just a bit closer to having a genuine trail system. The trail segments that will comprise the city-wide trail system are:
Allen Parkway Loop – main loop 14 miles; includes Ridgeview, Rowlett Creek, Cottonwood Creek and Mustang
Rowlett Creek Loop – 9 miles
Watters Branch Loop – 10 miles
Cottonwood Creek Loop – 7 miles

Greenbelt Trail

This 2.1 mile trail is at Josey Lane and Treeline.


Collin County – Bike Trails

Parkhill Prairie

Address:County Road 668 (near Blue Ridge)


A 436-acre preserve located in northeast Collin County, featuring a 52-acre relic of the Blackland tall-grass prairie and magnificent views of the countryside.

Sister Grove Park

Address:County Road 562 (East of Princeton)

A 75-acre hike/bike trail located between Princeton and Farmersville, adjacent to Lake Lavon.

Driving Directions: From McKinney, go East on US Hwy 380 past Princeton to County Road 559. Take a left on CR 559 and head North. Merge left onto CR 561 to CR 562. Take a left on CR 562. Sister Grove Park will be on your left hand side.

Trinity Trail

Address:County Road 967, Brockdale Park Road (Mapsco 563T) and County Road 384, Skyview Drive (Mapsco 663R, North of Wylie)

Dallas – Bike Trails

Bachman Lake Trail

Parking can be found off Shorecrest Drive, Lakefield Boulevard and Bachman Drive.

Length is 3.3 miles

Katy Trail

Finding parking specifically for the Katy Trail can be difficult, although there are a few parks (Cole Park, Turtle Creek Park, Lee Park) surrounding the trail. The Knox area offers parking, as does Reverchon Park. Note that access points to the trail itself may involve finding a path through the occasionally dense brush that borders the trail. 

The length is 2.25 miles

Keist Park

This curvy trail twists around South Dallas for about 2.6 miles.  Keist Park is off of Highway 67 at Keist Blvd.

Turtle Creek Trail

Short but sweet this 1.8 miles trail begins at Turtle Creek Blvd. and Maple Avenue.

White Rock Creek Trail

Length of trail is about 7.5 miles long.  To get to it, go Valley View Park off Hillcrest Road just north of I-635 offers plenty of parking at the north tip of the trail. There’s also a new parking lot south of I-635. You can also find parking at Greenville and Royal, as well as off Merriman Road near Abrams.

White Rock Lake Trail

Several parking lots, both paved and gravel, are available. Try the south park entrance, on Garland Road, near the Dallas Arboretum. Easy access is also available off Buckner Boulevard, Mockingbird Lane and West Lawther Drive.
The hike/bike path are 9.33 miles.  The road way is 11 miles.


Frisco – Bike Trails

Beaver Bend Trail Extension

This 1.2 mile trail is an extension to the current trail located in Beavers Bend Neighborhood Park. The trail winds around a pond and features a second playground structure alongside the trail. The trail currently extends from Beavers Bend Park to 4th Army Road which connects to B.F. Phillips Community Park. The connection of the trail into B.F. Phillips will take place with the completion of future Phases of the Community Park.

Caddo Trail

This one mile hike and bike system is located along Stewart Creek, just to the south of Stonebrook Parkway and will extend through the Chapel Creek development and connect into the city’s neighborhood park lying adjacent to Spears Elementary School.

College Parkway Trail

This 1.2 mile trail will provide linkage along the TXU easement that runs from College Parkway northward to and past Rolater Road. Once completed, this linkage will provide connection from the Preston Ridge Campus of CCCCD, Shawnee Trail Sports Complex, Shawnee Trail Elementary School, Centennial High School, Wester Middle School, Gunstream Elementary School and Shepherds Glen Park. Status: Construction of this trail is scheduled to be completed in 2008.

Griffin Parc Trail

Located within the Griffin Parc Development, a series of public hike and bike trails that lie within the subdivision and provide a linkage from just west of Legacy Parkway to Teel Parkway.

Lone Star Ranch Trail

Located within the Lone Star Ranch Development, a series of public hike and bike trails that lie within the subdivision providing a linkage from Fourth Army Memorial Drive to Southwest Community Park to a future FISD school site to the interior of the development.

Rowlett Creek Trail

Located along the West Rowlett Creek corridor this trail consists of a series of smaller trails that have been constructed along the developed areas extending from Custer Road to Preston Road. Once the few remaining land sections are developed, the trail will be complete.

Taychas Trail

Located along the West Rowlett Creek corridor traveling north from Isabel Elementary School to Rolater Road, the first phase of the trail will be approximately one mile in distance.

Trails of West Frisco Trail

Located within the Trails of West Frisco Development, a series of public hike and bike trails that lie within both interior to the subdivision as well as the perimeter of the development. This system provides a linkage from Teel Parkway and FM 720 northward along to Teel Parkway to Cottonwood Creek and will ultimately tie northward to Eldorado Parkway.


Garland – Bike Trails

Duck Creek Park

Located off Oates Dr off 635, this popular trail is 4 miles.


Grapevine – Bike Trails

Northshore Trail

This unpaved bike path is 9.5 miles long off of Rockledge Park and Fairway Dr. in Grapevine.


Irving – Bike Trails

Campion Trails

The Elm Fork trail section runs north past Royal Lane south of I-635. The Mountain Creek Preserve is at Nursery and Hunter Ferrell roads near the West Fork trail section.  Length is 3.5 miles

McKinney – Bike Trails

Erwin Bike Trail

Stonebridge Ranch Hike and Bike Trail

Wilson Creek Trail

Wilson Creek Trail is 4 miles located off Hwy. 75 between El Dorado and Virginia.

Richardson – Bike Trails

Breckenridge Trail

This well-liked trail is south of Renner Rd off of Hwy. 75.It is 4.1 miles long.
