There’s tons of fun to have at the Arboretum in January and February!

It may be cold outside, but we have a full slate of events and activities for you at the Dallas Arboretum!

We are offering $5 general admission for the entire month of January. Parking is $15 at the gate or $10 if purchased online in advance.

The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden is closed for preventative maintenance from January 1 to February 28.

Chinese New Year Garden to Table Dinner

January 23 • 6:30 – 8:30pm
$145 ($125 for Members)

Acclaimed Chef Kent Rathbun brings a delectable menu for this Chinese New Year themed Garden to Table Dinner. Enjoy a three-course menu, which includes a variety of dumplings, pot stickers and Mongolian BBQ ribs as an entree with signature beer pairings. Guests also enjoy a special presentation and demonstration by Chef Kent.

Super Bowl Spread Class

Score a touchdown at your Super Bowl party by joining Chef Jayson Jones as he shows you how to create the ultimate Super Bowl spread with five different recipes featuring smoky chili and loaded queso dip. This interactive class is the best way to prep your game day menu as you sip on beer and wine and learn all things munchies from Chef Jayson.

Butter Croissant & Chocolate Croissant Class

Be transported to France and learn all the secrets to succeed with croissant dough from My French Recipe. Make the puff pastry from scratch, shape delicious butter croissants, chocolate croissants and strawberry rolls. Leave the class with perfect pastries to enjoy yourself or share with loved ones – as well as a recipe booklet.

Heart Shaped Macaron Class

My French Recipe teaches how to bake heart shaped macarons with a delicious dark chocolate ganache and a touch of fresh raspberry – the perfect treat to prepare before Valentine’s Day. All attendees leave with a gift box of their own macarons and a recipe booklet.

Gather the girls for a fun afternoon to create a timeless piece of art utilizing gorgeous blooms. Andrea leads attendees on how to work with beautiful pressed flowers to achieve a unique work of art. It’s the perfect class for bridal showers and Galentine’s gatherings.

Galentine’s Day Garden to Table Dinner

While Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate romantic love, Galentine’s Day on February 13 is dedicated to celebrating friendship. Bring a bestie for a fun evening with a three-course menu inspired by the most beloved chick-flicks! Champagne pairings are included – list coming soon.

Workout Weekend BINGO

Every weekend 9am-5pm
January 4 – February 12

Let us help you kick start the New Year. Stick to your New Year’s resolution to be healthier with this fun Workout Weekend BINGO game. Pick up a card at the information booth to participate. Each BINGO square takes you to a different part of the garden and pairs a fun exercise to do there. No equipment is required – just nature and your motivation. Please consult with your physician before starting a new exercise routine. Workout attire must follow our garden etiquette guidelines. Bring a friend to join you and water to stay hydrated.

Urban Composting Basics with Turn Compost

Did you know that at least 30% of what goes into our landfill is compostable kitchen and yard waste? Learn about urban composting basics and how to do it yourself from Turn Compost Founder Lauren Clarke.

Groundhog’s Day Celebration

February 2 • 6:30am

Come early and find out if winter is sticking around, or if spring arrives in time for Dallas Blooms. Arboretum Annie, our groundhog, is onsite to predict the weather based on if she sees her shadow or not at our sunrise ceremony at 7:22am. Enjoy a full day of fun, starting with one complimentary coffee or hot chocolate, breakfast food vendor sales in the garden and (of course!) a screening of the popular movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray.

We also welcome students to enter our Groundhog’s Day Proclamation Writing Contest. Proclamation
proposals need to be written in “Groundhogese” language (from the point of view of Arboretum Annie in
the garden) and need to be submitted to mcastillo@dallasarboretum.org by January 29.

All attendees are welcome to enter our 2nd Annual Groundhog’s Day Hat Contest on the day of the big event, too!

Heart Healthy: Culinary Demo

Mysteries of Seafood Cookery Revealed: Culinary Demo

President’s Day Weekend

February 15 – 17

President’s Day weekend is full of fun activities for everyone. Children can participate in crafts in the Ginsburg Plaza. Adults can enjoy complimentary beer or wine tastings all three days. Specials include $2 hot dogs, $2 root beer floats and $2 cherry pies at the Terrace Café. Live music performances take place from 2-4pm on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn.
