This Is Dallas

Rich in history, Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park debuted a new exhibit on January 17 that shares the stories of historically marginalized individuals, This is Dallas. The exhibit takes a deeper look at the impact of disenfranchised individuals and groups (PoC, Women, and the LGBTQ+ community) on “big picture” history.

This is Dallas highlights 8 individuals including Marcellus Clayton Cooper, Anita N. Martinez, Rodd Gray [Patti Le Plae Safe], Maggie Wu, Alexander Sanger, Antonio Maceo Smith, Grace Danforth, and Quahana Parker. Each individual’s lives and accomplishments are represented through displayed artifacts and connections made to various buildings and locations around the park relative to Texas’ broad history.
