  • Catch a music festival.

Dallas’ best jazz musical extravaganza, the RiverFront Jazz Festival, will be kicking off the Labor Day weekend with an extraordinary experience. This three-day festival will run from Aug. 30 – Sept. 1 at the Dallas Convention Center, with performances from jazz and neo-soul’s most popular artists like Erykah Badu, the original Dreamgirl, Jennifer Holliday, Raheem DeVaugh and plenty of more. Shop dozens of vendor booths, with food and drinks available for purchase.

The show doesn’t stop here, because after the festival is the after party, view the hotels that will be offering after party line-ups on here.

  • Chow down on good eats.

The weekend’s fun continues at the city’s annual food truck haven, the Labor Day Food Truck Rally at Klyde Warren Park on Sept. 1. The foodie festival will feature more than 25 food trucks and carts that can conquer any appetite. Along with great food, there will also be live music from the Downtown Fever Band, giant games for the Jenga aficionados and other activities to enjoy – and it’s free! Use Alto rideshare with promotional code FOODTRUCK to receive a discounted ride to the festival.

Since this food festival will have you stuffed, walk it off with a stroll through Downtown to marvel at some of the city’s beautiful public art like The Eye (across from The Joule Hotel) or Genesis, The Gift of Life (across from the main entrance of the DMA).

  • Cool off with a cold one.
