Visit DFW: August 21–24, 2026

The last full weekends of summer are here, and DFW is making them count! From major concerts and Major League Baseball to the circus, Dallas Burger Week, art, animals, and plenty of ways to get out and explore, there’s something happening across North Texas August 21–24.
Whether you’re planning a date night, family outing, or weekend with friends, here’s your Dallas Native guide to what’s happening around DFW.
Friday Night in Dallas
Benson Boone – American Airlines Center (Friday, August 21)
Benson Boone takes over American Airlines Center Friday night, bringing one of the weekend’s biggest pop shows to Victory Park. Grab dinner nearby before the concert and make a full night of it in Downtown Dallas.
Avenged Sevenfold & Good Charlotte – Dos Equis Pavilion (Friday, August 21)
Rock fans have another major option Friday night. Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte bring their North American Tour to Dos Equis Pavilion at Fair Park. With two huge names sharing the bill, this is an easy pick for anyone looking for a louder start to the weekend.
Chocolate and Art Show – Lofty Spaces (Friday, August 21)
Art, music, chocolate, and Dallas nightlife come together for the Chocolate and Art Show at Lofty Spaces. The event showcases emerging local artists, photographers, musicians, and creators for a Friday night experience that’s a little different from your typical dinner-and-drinks plans.
Dallas Burger Week – Various Dallas Restaurants (Through Sunday, August 23)
If your weekend plans revolve around food, Dallas Burger Week is underway through Sunday. Participating restaurants around the city are serving featured burgers, making this a great excuse to try somewhere new—or turn the weekend into your own burger crawl.
Saturday Adventures
Santana & The Doobie Brothers – American Airlines Center (Saturday, August 22)
Two legendary names share the stage Saturday night when Santana and The Doobie Brothers bring their Oneness Tour to American Airlines Center. The show begins at 7 p.m. and is one of the weekend’s biggest live music events.
Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels – Globe Life Field (Saturday, August 22)
Head to Arlington for a Saturday evening at the ballpark as the Texas Rangers take on the Los Angeles Angels at Globe Life Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., giving you plenty of time to explore Texas Live! or the Arlington Entertainment District before the game.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey – Dickies Arena (August 21–23)
The circus is back in Fort Worth! Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey brings acrobatics, stunts, comedy, and larger-than-life performances to Dickies Arena throughout the weekend.
Saturday offers multiple showtimes, making this one of the weekend’s best options for families looking for an indoor activity away from the August heat.
Dallas Zoo Animal Experiences (Saturday & Sunday)
Make your Dallas Zoo visit a little more memorable with one of its special animal tours. Saturday features the Hippo, Capybara & Otter Tour, while Sunday offers the Elephant, Predator & Lemur Tour.
These experiences are a fun way to go beyond a traditional zoo visit and get a closer look at some of the zoo’s most popular residents.
Sunday Around DFW
Final Day of Dallas Burger Week (Sunday, August 23)
Sunday is your last chance to take advantage of Dallas Burger Week. Pick a participating restaurant you haven’t tried, gather a few friends, and turn lunch into your final burger stop of the week.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey – Final Day (Sunday, August 23)
If Saturday is already packed, Ringling Bros. offers two more performances Sunday at Dickies Arena. It’s an easy family outing and a great indoor option for a hot August afternoon.
Dallas Farmers Market
Keep Sunday casual with brunch and shopping at the Dallas Farmers Market. Browse local produce, artisan goods, specialty foods, and small businesses before grabbing lunch at The Market.
White Rock Lake
For something slower, start early with a walk, bike ride, or paddle around White Rock Lake. Grab coffee beforehand and enjoy one of Dallas’ favorite outdoor destinations before temperatures climb.
Monday Fun
Museum Monday
After a busy weekend, Monday is a perfect excuse to head indoors. Spend the afternoon exploring the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas Museum of Art, or another Dallas cultural favorite.
Reunion Tower
Wrap up your extended weekend with one of the most recognizable views in Dallas. Head to Reunion Tower’s GeO-Deck for panoramic skyline views and try to time your visit around sunset.
Explore Bishop Arts
If you’re looking for something less structured, spend Monday afternoon or evening wandering Bishop Arts. Grab coffee, browse local shops, stop for dinner, and enjoy one of Dallas’ most walkable neighborhoods without the weekend crowds.
How to Use This Weekend Guide
Friday is all about choosing your vibe: Benson Boone at American Airlines Center, Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte at Dos Equis Pavilion, or a night of local creativity at the Chocolate and Art Show.
Saturday is packed. Catch the Rangers in Arlington, make it a family day at Ringling Bros. in Fort Worth, or head downtown for Santana and The Doobie Brothers.
Slow things down Sunday with the Dallas Farmers Market, Dallas Zoo, White Rock Lake, or one final stop for Dallas Burger Week. Then use Monday for a museum, Bishop Arts, or sunset views from Reunion Tower.
However you spend it, there’s plenty happening across DFW August 21–24!
